Update December 1st 2024: 

The first metro line of Ho Chi Minh city is set to debut on December 22nd, 2024 - which is less than 3 weeks away! Stay tuned for our latest updates and images!

***From December 22, 2024 to January 21, 2025 (30 days), the first metro line of Ho Chi Minh City is open free to all travellers (as per official announcement). No registration needed.***

Update October 7th 2024: 

Some progress can be observed on the frequency of test rides as well as the construction of supporting facilities (bypass bridges, stations, sign posts, staircase, etc.). However, the official debut of the first Metro line of Ho Chi Minh city is remained unknown. This is partly due to the delay of employee training, as well as some budgeting conflicts with the Japanese contractors (according to the official new sources anyway).
